Dr. Altun was born in Kahramanmaras in 1968. He graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1991. In 1994, he joined Trakya University Faculty of Medicine as an assistant in Department of Forensic Medicine. He became specialist in forensic medicine in 1997 with a thesis on "Deaths among homeless people in Istanbul, 1991-1995". He has done research on clinical forensic medicine, forensic traumatology and forensic documentation of torture. Currently Dr. Altun is teaching and tutoring medical students at University of Trakya, Faculty of Medicine as an assistant professor in Department of Forensic Medicine. He is a member of Turkish Medical Association Chamber of Medicine of Edirne and Turkish Society of Forensic Medicine Specialists. He is married and has one daughter. His favorite subjects are forensic autopsy, forensic traumatology and forensic documentation of torture. His favorite hobbies are trekking, swimming and fishing.

Emmanuel N. Michalodimitrakis MD, JD, is Professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and Director of the Department of Forensic Sciences of the Medical School of the University of Crete with broad experience in both forensic pathology and toxicology. Prof. E. Michalodimitrakis also serves as the Medical Examiner of the region of Crete. His professional background includes serving as consultant chief pathologist for the State in nationwide difficult cases with exhumation of bodies, special analyses and expert testimony. The Department of Forensic Sciences of the University of Crete has been chosen for the training in Forensic Pathology of the staff of forensic pathologists of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the University of Tirana, Albania. His book "Craniocerebral Injuries" has been translated in the Albanian, Romanian and Bulgarian languages and is used as textbook in the undergraduate students and the trainees in the field of Forensic pathology. Last years his Department in Greece has been selected by Balkan Academy of Forensic Sciences as the official center for training in forensic pathology for the trainees from all Balkan countries. Dr. E. Michalodimitrakis is an internationally recognized expert in forensic pathology and has been qualified as an expert witness by the Supreme Courts of Greece and other European countries. He has examined thousands of cases, performing autopsies and exhumations through out Greece, Balkan countries and USA and written more than 240 scientific publications in Greek and International Journals.

Carmen Fernandes is a medical scientist in Independent practice in Durban, South Africa. Her research interests in Forensic Medicine are in the field of Forensic Identification and she has published original research on Forensic Ethnic Identification of Crania in the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, documenting her discovery of the role of the maxillary sinuses in identification. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Anatomy and is a member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists, the American Association of Anatomists, the Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Association and the British Academy of Forensic Sciences. Her current research (PhD) covers uncharted territory in Human Anatomical and Physical Anthropological studies and is of great importance to and has far reaching applications to the field of Forensic Medicine.

Dr. Bai Rufeng graduated from Chongqing University of Medical Science, and is now working in the Department of Forensic Science at Medical College of Shantou University, P.R. China. Dr. Rufeng has been engaged in Forensic Pathology since 2000. He specializes in the deduction of injury implements and the estimation of time interval post injury. His main works are focused on the deduction of metal injury implements by SEM/EDS and ICP-AES. Dr. Rufeng is also very interested in the estimation of time interval post injury in the skin tissue within short periods.

Dr. Yasser is the journal consultant on matters of Veterinary Forensic Medicine. Currently he is working as a fecturer in the Veterinary Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Alexandria University (Damanhur Branch), Behera, Egypt.
