• How long should we wait for Justice? by Dr. Mukesh Yadav
  (A very informative piece written by Mukesh Yadav. Dr Mukesh Yadav is currently a Profesor and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Muzaffarnagar Medical College, Muzaffarnagar (contact: Mobile 9411480753). One of the most energetic and intelligent persons in the field of forensic medicine, he passed from a college whose MD in Forensic Medicine is not recognized till date. Naturally he has become a crusader for the injustice meted out to all youngsters who are being duped by the Government in the name of providing MD degress, which are as yet unrecognized. A must read for all!

 Blogs

Blogs have become the rage of everyone these days and forensic scientists are no exception. Indian forensic scientists and forensic pathologists are rapidly making their presence known on the blogosphere. Two most important forensic blogs by Indian scientists that have come up in recent times are by Swapnil Agarwal of Belgaum and A.J. Patowary of Assam. I have enjoyed them thoroughly and I am sure all our readers would have the same experience.

• Dr. Swapnil Agarwal's Blog. (Dr. Swapnil Agarwal is a young and hugely successful forensic pathologist of India. Some good topics on his blog at the time of this writing include "Maintenance Of Medical Records" and "Legal Duties Of A Medical Practitioner In Dealing With Poisoning Cases". He has also started a medicolegal helpline to help all medical practitioners who face difficulties in medicolegal issues. His helpline number is 09243222218. This is indeed a very thoughtful and innovative step taken by Dr. Agarwal, and perhaps the first of its kind anywhere in the world. He has also written a bestseller in forensic medicine, which was reviewed in this journal in its last issue. His blog is highly recommended. • Dr. A.J. Patowary's Blog. (Dr. A.J. Patowary is another young and hugely successful forensic pathologist of India. Some good topics on his blog at the time of this writing include "virtopsy", "Modern Mortuary Plans" and "The fourth incision - a cosmetic autopsy incision technique". One can see architectural plans of modern mortuaries in his blogs, which would undoubtedly be very helpful to all concerned with autopsies.
