The given case was a case of vehicular accident. The diseased had multiple injuries of minor nature with head injury & traumatic transection of aorta at the root. Photographs also depict attempts at erasing tattoo marks & overwriting of tattoo marks. Though traumatic rupture of aorta has been reported in literature, it is quite rare. Similarly erasing of tattoo marks is also reported in literature but very rare in India. In our experience of over fifteen thousand cases of postmortem examination this is the first case where attempt at erasure or over writing at tattoo marks is seen.
