The deceased was a resident of rural region some 30 km away from our hospital. She had a complaint of pain in abdomen. While she was brought to the hospital for treatment she died. The ruptured pregnancy caused intra abdominal hemorrhage causing death of the woman. It is one of the causes of sudden death. See the size of the fetus. It was about nine cm. The duration of pregnancy could well be about three months or so. Such pregnancy and its ectopic nature should have been diagnosed early and appropriate treatment could have been initiated saving the life of woman. Many times it does not become possible in rural set up in India.
