Face of the Death: Agony or Smile?

If the death is due to antemortem burns, the victim would wince and frown due to pain. This could cause creases in the face. Consequently blackening due to smoke may not be present in these creases. If this sign is present, we can be quite sure, the death was due to antemortem burns. This fact is not very much highlighted in forensic literature. We wanted to highlight this fact through these illustrative photographs.
