The book Clinical Forensic Medicine edited by Margaret M. Stark consisting of 12 Chapters with 438 pages is a comprehensive physician guide to a branch of medicine involving interaction between the law, the Police and the judiciary concerning living persons. Its main focus is in the clinical aspects of the subject as opposed to the pathological aspect. It clearly elucidates the fundamental principles of the subject as well as the recent advances.
I find the book to be well researched with all areas of clinical forensic medicine comprehensively covered. Worthy of note is the area of restraint by police which was adequately covered including the use of crowd-control agents. It is a well written, compelling and easy to follow book making the reader to be engrossed from the beginning to the end.
I therefore strongly recommend it to all law enforcement agents, legal luminaries and physicians as well as lay people to have some understanding of this new, progressive and flourishing area of medicine.
