They say good things come in small packages. Review of Radiology is a tiny book that personifies this. This pocketbook, which was first released in 2004, appears to have been very well received by undergraduate students, postgraduate aspirants, and even postgraduate residents in various specialities. However, it is mainly intended for the students appearing for postgraduate medical admission tests of various Universities and institutes in India. And so here we have the second edition, which has been revised and updated to include several recent advances in the field of radiology. A new section on "Radiological Quiz" has also been added to help in self-assessment. Radiology is one of the subjects, which is ironically not given its due importance in the undergraduate medical curriculum, but forms a significant component of postgraduate entrance examinations. Therefore a compact guide such as this which gives the entire subject in a nutshell could be considered a valuable asset to any postgraduate aspirant.

The book is divided into four main sections, namely general radiology, systemic radiology, radiotherapy and a section on multiple choice questions. The first three sections cover various aspects of the subject, with frequently asked topics or facts being highlighted by an asterisk. The last section presents commonly asked questions, which can help a student get a feel of the examination. In today's competitive world dominated by entrance examinations, every subject and every question could make a vital difference.
Sumer Sethi's book on Radiology contains important points and aspects of radiology that have not been attempted in an average book on the subject, and that makes it quite unique. Even though it is comprehensive in its scope, it does not go into unnecessary details that are redundant to the target audience that it is aimed at. The author assures us that all the information presented has been cross-checked by consulting standard reference books such as Sutton and Chapman's Aids to Radiological Differential Diagnosis.
Sumer Sethi may be just a Senior Resident in Radiodiagnosis, but he has already many contributions in various national and international journals to his credit, and this particular book should serve as one more feather to his cap.
